Yes. An international survey of 8,391 crocheters across 87 countries found that 89.5% felt calmer after stitching, 82% felt happier, and 74.7% felt more useful.
The study found that the repetitive, rhythmic nature of crochet activates the parasympathetic nervous system — the same calming response triggered by deep breathing and meditation. Participants who crocheted three or more times per week reported the strongest effects.
